Not sure why the review asks if it's age appropriate but here are my thoughts. We bought them for several reasons. The main one is my husband who cooks most of the time but he is quite tall and keeps banging his head on the oven fan which is metal and quite sharp. Unfortunately they don't stick very well when they get hot and we kept finding them on the floor. They held up better after we used the store bought double sided tape, but I'm sure this process will have to be repeated. We also have them on our bedside tables in our bedroom and if I forget them and bump them while I'm making my bed they can come off pretty easily, but they're better here. I think partly because they don't get hot over the stove, and partly because they are placed on the surface rather than on the floor. Just a few comments but if they are there they are definitely doing their job. They're fairly flexible and thick enough that you can't seriously injure your head, although they're still pretty tough. If I could I would give them 3 1/2 stars but since I couldn't I'll give them four stars.
