Review on TYC 2138 Aluminum Replacement Radiator by Sean Franklin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far, so good. Installation was easy

So far so good. Installation was easy, apart from the transmission lines, but that was my car's fault (Mustang V6 1999). FYI, they have sleeve connectors with a threaded portion toward the end and a smooth portion in front. The problem is that not only do they wear out, the threaded part can catch on something. I had to use a flat head screwdriver placed on the back of the nut at the hub where the transmission line and hub meet. Then pound the end a little with a hammer until it kicks in. Then I wiggled as hard as I could and repeated the hammer hits. I did this about five times on each row. But luckily it worked. Baffled me for a while. I wish I had those "quick connect" Ford lines. At least they're better than this poorly designed junk. Typical Ford in my opinion. In any case, it's actually better than the original I think because the transmission cooler line fittings on the radiator appear to have a brass seal (crush washer). You can see the OEM doesn't have the same parts. And if you are looking for TZB for this car, then at the factory there was a problem with gaskets, which is why it was recommended to remove the radiator, remove the fittings attached to the radiator and install a set of rubber gaskets purchased only from Ford. Gaskets specially designed for this technical problem were made. (Ford seems to have many such problems). So they appear to have added protection that wasn't advertised. Huge plus! And the reason for the five stars. Aside from fast shipping and a precise fit, they appear to be better than the stock Ford radiators. I would highly recommend to friends or family. Update 05/10/17 Still working fine
