I tested four bluetooth receivers with RightMark Audio Analyzer so you didn't have to. This device had the best overall performance: see screenshot from RightMark analysis. Good Features:* Excellent frequency response and low noise.* I have verified that my Galaxy S9 and Macbook Pro stream the aptX codec to this device successfully.* No distortion, beeps or beeps. Crackles once paired and configured Bad: * After pairing, the device played a continuous tone through the audio out and I couldn't stream any sound even though it was paired. I restarted the device and haven't had any problems since.* The audio output level is very low. I have to crank the amp up to the max to get an acceptable volume. This also means that the maximum input level for passthrough is low. A higher signal level like Chromecast Audio will cause distortion of over 50% or so!
