I have several different brands of charcoal bags that I use to solve an incredibly smelly problem around the house that I didn't think could be solved. I have been living in my house for 3 years now and the smell was so strong and embarrassing and I thought it was deep in the walls as well as the two fireplaces. Within 24 hours of placing bags of charcoal around my home, the smell literally disappeared. I'm still in shock about it because I thought it was deep in the walls and I couldn't have done anything but move out. I put a few large ones in each fireplace and around the other main rooms in my house. I wanted some bigger ones so I ordered these. It's a good color and I've added one more to each chimney. A week ago I ordered a really big rug with an incredibly strong musty smell, put one of those bags on it and the smell was gone in 2 days. After putting the first few bags of another brand in the house I could tell the smell was gone and after adding these bags my house actually smelled nice. It's hard to describe, but it's just a fresh, pleasant scent. So I think you need the right amount depending on the size of your house. I'm just thrilled that a simple bag of charcoal can actually eliminate odor. I'm not a beginner, have tried everything for the past 3 years and nothing has worked except charcoal bags. So if you have mold or a strong old house smell these bags are for you but make sure you have enough. In my opinion this set of 4 would not suffice unless you are very limited on space. Incidentally, I pulled a few of these out of my fireplace to freshen up in my little ozone tank. (People usually just put them out in the sunlight). In the few hours they weren't by the fireplace, a totally foul smell returned to my house! You will stay until I go.
