A friend suggested I try them when I asked how to protect my new sofa from my monster cats. I didn't realize until I was about to attach them that the sheets are strong clear vinyl with an adhesive on one side, much stronger than the double sided tape I also used. My pets no longer try to scratch the furniture. where I applied these protectors; Now they reach past them to dig in their claws, usually when I'm looking directly at them (and they're looking at me). My cats' disregard for authority does not diminish the fact that these protectors are doing their job. They are easy to cut and attach. My furniture looks a bit like my grandma's "good" furniture in the living room that nobody sits on because it's covered in plastic, but I'm okay with that. My sofa is not damaged yet.
