It seems that these lamps need a constant and full power supply to work well. Many candles with dawn/dusk sensors appear to limit current in a way that affects the performance of these bulbs. They seem to work great in candles with a switch or timer function. However, the three stars are only on lightbulbs, which don't work well with gauge-style candles.
