Nuby Teether is my favorite teething toy for my girl. I purchased this item when my baby was about 6 months old and his first bottom tooth started to sprout. She made a fuss every night, chewing on everything and everyone, including my face and herself, that was my salvation. This was my third teething purchase straight after Comotomo Comotomo Silicone Baby Teether, Orange and Baby Banana Baby Banana Toothbrush and my thoughts and comparisons are as follows: Nuby Teether -PROS: The container beats me on this purchase. Cute, compact, looks expensive in a case and costs about the same if not less than a competitor like the Comomoto. With this case, I no longer have to worry about storing that teether in a zipped bag or lugging around a clunky storage box, the tote is small, dainty, and small enough that I can toss it in my purse on the go. . This is a huge plus as it puts it a step ahead of the competition when it comes to packaging. Another plus of this item is the ergonomic design in the shape of a fish. The hole is perfect for my little hand when trying to grab it at 6 months and it still fits her perfectly now at 8 months. It's flat enough that she can pass it from hand to hand without falling out, and the grip is very comfortable. The curve of the stubble is perfectly designed, the slope in the middle allows maneuvering, biting from one edge and slowly moving to the other, which is a big plus in terms of mobility. The main bristle section itself is very soft and flexible, hard enough to massage your gums yet gentle on your little teeth. One area of improvement would be his ability to stay frozen longer. I often keep this teether in the fridge before giving it to my baby and I have found that it instantly goes to room temperature within 1-2 minutes. It would be great if it could stay cold longer. Comotomo teething ring - PROS: This teething ring convinces me with its cool design, its cheerful color and my love for Comotomo products itself. The sterilizer is safe, which is a big plus. That being said, there are some areas that need improvement. CONS: The grip hole area is too big for my young child's hand. She will grab it with both hands and sometimes still manage to drop it. Four fingers (or "carrots" as we would call them in our house) is not my favorite design trait in terms of functionality. I have found that when my child puts one end in his mouth to chew, the other finger or fingers rest on his nose or other areas of the face. It's quite worrying as I can never give her that toy and walk away for a minute knowing she won't hurt herself. Another problem I have with these "carrots" is that after chewing for a long time she eventually starts gagging and throwing up on herself as this could be too deep in her mouth and cause a gag reflex and it all comes out . Feedings in the last 2-4 hours. The last thing I have with this item is the silicone material itself. In my opinion it is very hard, despite the label "soft hygienic silicone". Baby Banana Teather - PROS: This teething ring convinces me with its charming design. Does my child eat a banana or brush their teeth? It's too adorable to pass up this item so I had to buy one. Safe for sterilization which is another bonus. . Huge plus. Sweet bright colors, very charming design. CONS: The bristle head is too stiff compared to the Nuby teether and the banana head is in turn too long. My little one put the thing in her mouth and started choking and throwing up.
