I ordered a size 10-12. The dress I received is more like a 7-8. The dress is very cute and easy to wear for any occasion (wedding, dinner, etc) but I was very disappointed with the size. I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow morning so unfortunately I don't have a dress for my girl as the dress didn't fit. If your kid is very slim, please order the right size. It's long enough for a slender child and doesn't need to get any bigger to accommodate their height. If your child is overweight, order 1 or 2 sizes up. The dress has absolutely no elastic at the waist, but you can always add a belt to cinch the waist if it's tall.
