The mouth opening is too wide, but keeps the heat very well.
I like the shape of the mouthpiece, but it's too wide and the coffee seems to ooze out of the corners of my mouth. I wouldn't call it completely airtight - I wouldn't dare throw it in a backpack with important papers. The size is right and it really does keep your drink hot for hours.
