Bought for Irma. Luckily I only had to use it for a few hours because the power was back. I read some of the other reviews and thought I should post. Not only is it ready to go, you need to scan channels like any other digital antenna. I watched the Jets game (why actually?!) on it and just fiddled with it a few times to get it stable, messages from other channels came clean. The sound was crap for one game but great on other stations so I just assume it was something with the show. A few things they have to tell you: there's a protective plastic sheet that needs to be removed, but the tab is so small you can barely see it. When not in use, press the main switch on the side. Otherwise, the battery will be wasted, and I've learned that the hard way. I think build quality for the price is excellent and will find a use for it in the future. They just need to include instructions (I haven't seen anything related to the above) as that will likely change some of those other reviews.
