Review on MustWin Retrofit Recessed Downlight Bluetooth by David Golden

I bought these lights to replace glass lights in my 20 foot ceiling. It took a lot of effort to replace them as it is difficult to find stairs to reach such a height. In any case, I was initially pleased to see how bright the lights were and the range of colors they were able to represent. HOWEVER, the excitement quickly turned to frustration when I realized that the third-party app that you must download from the manufacturer (and that is required to control these lights with Alexa) is EXTREMELY limited when it comes to programming from scenes (in the app as tap-to-run). Unlike live lighting controls, there is no color palette in the scene programming section that you can use to customize the lighting color for a specific scene. Instead, you have sliders to get different levels of red, blue, green, or white, and that's it. Later, the app developer even removed those sliders and replaced them with a few macros for specific colors. One of them called "Mediterranean" gives them all a blue light. Another, called "colored", includes bulbs of different colors, which I thought was cool at first, but the transition is sharp and not very pleasing to look at, unlike Philips Hue bulbs, which have a smoother transition. There are several other scenes, but the bottom line is that you can't set the lighting the way you want. Revain allows you to customize the colors to an extent, but their own app only gives you about 8.9 options. Too bad for a lamp that can display 16 million colors. The best we can hope for is that the app developer will update the app significantly. Otherwise these lights are a big disappointment! UPDATE: The developers of the app continue to show interest in including a way to expand the scene customization options. Difficult to communicate with them as they are Chinese, but they claim that the problem is with the lamp manufacturer, which is strange since the manufacturer has stated that the lamps can display 16 million colors. They couldn't even tell me how to contact the manufacturer and I can't find them online. Downgraded the rating to 1 star. I will look for different lightbulbs to get what I want.
