Boy, that's just great! I bought two in November. One for my husband's car and one for me. I got stuck on icy mountain roads shortly after arriving and had to call a tow truck. I had my FlareAlert in the trunk of my car and had to scoot around to get it and one of my emergency batons. Well, it taught me that it should always be on hand so I don't have to get out of the car to use it. It's not always safe to go outside. On a busy highway, it's better not to exit at all. And in that case, with ice and stuff on the ice, the car could slide back while I was fumbling around in the trunk, or I could slip and hurt myself just groping my way to the rear of the car and back. I used it in March when the My car's power steering pump failed during the long drive home from Toronto. It happened on a busy highway, at night in the dark. This time I had a FlareAlert nearby and never got out of the car. I turned it on, flashed it, attached it to the car and waited for the tow truck, which I then called. Both times I told the tow truck drivers that I would have a red flashing light on my car. When asked if the light was good to see, the two enthusiastically said that they could see it from afar and that knowing how to look for it was very helpful. You usually have to slow down to determine where the problem car is, especially at night. Both incidents happened at night. The FlareAlert is well made from very good, durable plastic. It emits light very strongly and clearly. The magnet on it is so strong that I have to be careful not to store any electronics nearby. Hard drives and memory cards can react adversely in their vicinity. Overall, I'm very happy I got this useful gadget and I'm satisfied with the way it works and the service it has already provided. Everyone should have one of these in their car. This can be a real lifesaver! This will definitely save your car's battery and keep you visible if you get stuck. You don't have to keep the turn signals on if you're worried about battery drain (i.e. if you have to turn the engine off - which I had to do or else my car would overheat). I might get a second one for myself as I was concerned other passing cars might not be able to see the exterior of my black car at night. I was able to reach the passenger seat and place one outside on that side. Even if it's only mounted on the door on this side, it gives passing cars a better idea of my car's physical location. It's safer that way. I also keep a few extra batteries handy just in case. I highly recommend this product! And I know that this whole review is a bit of an advertisement, but actually I am in no way affiliated with any manufacturers, distributors or sellers of any products. I'm just amazed at the usefulness of the product as I (unfortunately) have the opportunity to use it twice. I hope you all stay safe with or without him. :)
