A FUN RC Car for Hobbyists [Updated 11/2020. Compared to 2021 model]

I've had several RC hobbyist cars over the years - the kind that lets you literally take apart every component, upgrade parts and customize your cars to suit your needs. Sympathy. They usually cost several hundred dollars. There are also cheaper models that I let my kids play with and practice driving. This particular Bezgar 1 is a good entry-level RC car for hobbyists with great off-road capability and waterproof performance. My best friend's daughter had fun playing with this on a rock and sand hike in September and I gave it to her. My brother also asked where he could buy it himself and when I sent him the link something was strange: the same car has received an UPGRADE since I bought it in March 2020! I asked him to let me review his RC once he receives it so my review can be updated with the changes. My friend has a 2021 model (HM101) and when I compared his and mine I noticed a few differences: - The rear axle is slightly larger and wider. This should give it better stability. The front swingarm ball head is slightly larger and SHOULD provide better impact protection. His steering gear has three wires instead of five like mine. Don't know if this makes a difference in performance - the 2021 model has a more powerful 550 motor (my 2020 version has a 490) - it came with an extra (green) PVC sleeve, although we both have the original yellow to prefer. Schematic-- Both models look the same from the outside- Relatively large at 1/12 scale (new version is even larger at 1/10 scale)-- Looks VERY cool at such a large format- Unbelievable price for ham radio-controlled trucks - Im Compared to other 1/12 scale RC trucks the price of $117 was fair at the time of writing - The new version is an even better deal as it's a little larger in 1/10 scale for the same price. Interchangeable parts - Oil filled metal shock absorbers for a VERY amateur smooth ride (Part # T2100) - Additional features included (but not oil filled) - Improved metal drive gears and shafts in new version (Part # T2111/T2115 and no.) T2112/T2113/T2115) -- Feels heavier and stronger than the original -- Offers extra strength and improved performance --- The plastic parts of the original version can warp or crack easily over time. Adds a nicer sound when accelerating. and threaded tires (part number T2120L and T2120R) allow you to ride on almost any surface, even when wet --- Tires (in conjunction with oil filled shock absorbers) have excellent damping (see video) --- Fun to ride for some crazy stunts on ramps. - Water resistance means you can play in a small puddle of water (and heavy rain) with confidence for increased durability and performance. - Functional LED headlights - Simple paintwork that looks decent - Smooth handling in terms of steering and power - Charger with 2 rechargeable 1500mah (new version includes 1600mah at 7.4v) lithium polymer batteries included, so almost a hour of playtime - Bring a portable battery pack with you to charge spare batteries via USB (takes about 4 hours, depending on your USB power level) while playing with another - Buy an additional 1600mAh (part # T2119) lithium Polymer batteries to increase playback time. The charger can charge both batteries at the same time. allows you to travel longer distances than 5GHz frequencies --- 2 AA batteries included for remote control --- Speed limiter to adapt to operator's ability --- Allows the RC to move slowly enough so that a child can practice driving unaided Car disappears or hits obstacles - Came fully assembled CONS - The plastic parts of the original weren't as good as the metal chassis/brushless motor, the more expensive ones cost over $300 - The new version has this gap thanks to the improved metal closed gear. and Waves- Many may find it difficult to control high speeds.-- Note that there is a throttle limiter on the remote control to help slow the truck down for easier control. A learning curve for hobbyists unfamiliar with amateur quality RC transmitters. Journey. It is made of high quality components, has long battery life with quick charger and 4WD hops over all types of terrain and speed ramps. It turned out to be a hit with the kids on a camping trip a few months back while my best friend's RC ended up in the dust...literally! To my best friend: Sorry buddy, I couldn't help but rub it in your face again! Buy yourself a better car :-) If you found this review helpful, please click the helpful button below to encourage me to write more. Thank you!
