As other reviewers have stated, the front and back covers of this product are cardboard, but very substantial (looks like it's infused with some kind of stiffener and waterproofing agent) cardboard. Overall, the product is very well made - the lines on the pages are very crisp and well-defined and the paper itself seems to be of very good quality. I was looking for a multi-year insert to an old, hand-carried calendaring system that I bought many years ago and still use continuously - it's hard to find calendar inserts for it anymore, so I thought that I'd try this product. I did have to modify the back cover (cut it down a bit) so that it would fit into the jacket of my system, but I'm pleased with the result and I have a multi-year calendar insert as a result!
