I think it's a simple, thin design that protects well from scratches. My only caveat is that if you're using a USB-C to other USB types conversion device, the plastic can interfere with the device's ability to flush in USB-C on a MacBook Pro. I made a small modification to make a hole on the left side of the case which made the hole slightly larger. Instead of the standard one and a half inch hole, the modification made it about three and a half inches. Now it's perfect for the USB-C device I'm using. The case allows you to show the color of your MacBook as it is transparent.
