I purchased this aftermarket toner cartridge kit when I bought my new HP laser printer. A few months later, when the black cartridge ran out, I pulled out these generic replacement cartridges and began the replacement process. First, the "chip," which the seller says can be easily removed from the original cartridge with tweezers, was glued into the HP cartridge with epoxy. HP DID NOT want this chip removed! After half an hour of operation, I managed to remove the "chip”. I then had to trim off the plastic and epoxy sticking to it to make it small enough to be moved into an aftermarket cartridge slot. When I finally got everything assembled I was able to make copies but got an error message from the printer saying the toner cartridge was almost empty. A quick look at the instructions that came with the cartridges showed me that the manufacturer was aware of this error message and advised me to ignore it. This does not affect the performance of the cartridge. As a result, as long as that cartridge has capacity, I keep getting an error message saying I'm running out of toner. This means that the toner cartridge is completely empty and will fail without warning. This product is not suitable for Revain. And because I bought it two months earlier (to have it on hand when it's gone), Revain doesn't want my money back. Epilogue: After spending over an hour on the phone with Revain customer service which included around 50 minutes. with a representative in Jamaica and a supervisor in the Philippines (both very professional) I finally managed to get a full refund. Representatives understood the issues but struggled to overcome the system's prohibitions on delaying repatriation. The boss stated that he would refer this supplier to Revain. If I, as a retiree, didn't have the time to go through such a lengthy process over the phone, the seller probably would have won this dispute. I am grateful to Revain for solving this problem for me despite the fact that I had to spend sooooo much time with them on the phone.
