We bought these blankets as emergency insurance. They arrived quickly, folded into a space the size of a credit card and not much thicker than one, and served multiple purposes, including signal reflection. They are easy to take with you on long hikes and are also at hand as an additional tool in the event of a power failure. As such, you may want to keep the original fold unless you have a reason to fully open the duvet upon arrival.
