My mom bought me a blanket about 15 years ago. It was soft, fluffy and light. I loved this thing so much. If it breaks, I sew up the hole. When the baseboard heater fried it slightly, I shrugged and continued using it. I've tried replacing it a few times but nothing was as soft or fluffy. Finally, at 25, I went from a big mattress to a queen. I had to give up my favorite blanket. I literally spent more time looking for a comfy comforter than a mattress. I read countless duvet reviews before stumbling across this one. I thought, even with less than average reviews, how is it possible that this blanket does NOT have one star reviews?! That's why I bought it. I hope this review will help you save some of the hours of work I've spent looking for a duvet - yes the reviews are well deserved. The blanket itself is a bit thinner than I expected, but it fluffs up quite easily. I have a duvet cover for myself, but the duvet is softer than the bedspread. It's so damn soft, light and comfortable I want to walk around the house in a cape. I've only had it for a month - can't say how durable it is or how warm it will be in the winter, but judging by how much my cats and I love to snuggle on it, I think it will will be fine. So far no signs of use can be seen. And to be honest if it somehow only lasted 1 year I would probably buy the exact same one. I spent $90 for a large blanket and was very disappointed. This blanket is better by half and cheaper. I've been chasing blankets from my childhood for years and have finally found something to make me feel snuggly again as a kid. 10/10, I will buy again.
