I wasn't expecting much from this tool but right out of the box it was sharp enough to easily cut through the box it came in. It cuts small logs well, but don't use the ax on anything over 5 inches in diameter. When rocking, other parts sometimes move a little, which worries me. I was most excited about the saw, but to be honest I was disappointed. Works best on branches 1" in diameter and clogs easily. While the instruments themselves are strong, they are slightly curved, making them difficult to close. As a further point, I would like to point out that the ax head rusted slightly in my case, too. In general, everything seems to work very well, but the design could use a little more work.
