Big heavy sigh. This was a very rare online purchase that I made without reading the reviews first. I knew exactly what I was buying and I knew what the reviews would say. But last year's model had time to die as it had been in the box for a year and I needed a replacement. BUT! I'm still amazed at the surprisingly strange decisions made by manufacturers of such products. Why on earth are you sending this with the bulbs already screwed in? WHY! I have ordered 5 pcs, 3 pcs and 6 1 pcs. Out of 14, 7 arrived with broken bulbs in the unit. So far we've managed to extract 3 and successfully replaced them with new bulbs, but the rest look iffy. Reduce the entire project to zero. Our ad would look silly with a few random blank windows. And it's Christmas Eve and unfortunately the local shops are completely empty. I think the lesson has been learned. Over the years I've always taken them to the store to personally inspect the contents and find something that worked. I really appreciate that Revain got them to me in ONE DAY! It's free! After scouring the city looking for a store version to no avail. It's been 2 weeks! The product itself is almost ridiculously cheap, the cord is too short, the base isn't ridiculously thin. To me, that's part of their nostalgic charm. Bottom line: you know what it is, so don't expect anything else. However, I strongly encourage you to purchase additional units! Open the boxes, find the ones that work, and return the add-ons after Christmas.
