Maybe blades aren't that good?

I used these blades a maximum of 3 times before I had to replace them with new ones. I think it has something to do with the 5 blades or the extra waterproof pad that's on it. Whatever it is, I've used this razor for many years and always buy the 3-blade model. But I thought I would go broke because I thought it would be a little bit better. But I think it's lower quality than a 3 blade blade.
