I recently bought a 5 gallon safety container and the original funnel still works. I bought another one in case one breaks down or gets lost. There is nothing more to say about it - after all, it is a funnel. But if you happen to buy a safe can (with or without a funnel), please understand that a funnel makes pouring the can incredibly easy. No spills, no mess. I'd also like to add that I've had meetings with other people who didn't understand that the funnel had to be removed to fill it - I think they were trying to fill it with the funnel installed? Yes, the funnel can be difficult to remove due to the tabs, but it's far from impossible. If you have trouble removing it, put some lube on the bottom half of the part that sits on top of the can. A little oil or even wax paste should help.
