My wife and I needed a new hair dryer and when we saw this model for VINE's review we agreed to test it. The first thing we thought upon unpacking it was that it was broken because it wouldn't turn on. That's because we haven't figured out the controls: you have to hold down the start button for a while. This is not a fatal error, but it was the first of many confusing facts about this dryer. We thought: why not just make an easy switch? Why is there a "press and hold" button? As we started, the light in the bathroom started flickering. We consulted with a friend who is an electrical engineer and she told us that the device is likely drawing more current than advertised, which is overloading our bathroom circuitry. We don't have this problem with other devices, including older hair dryers. So that's another confusing issue: why is the light flickering?
