Both the mat and the cutter have good design. Firstly, I like that the rug has both sides for different purposes. There are inches and cm on one side, inches on two sides and cm on the other two sides. There are half inch nets on the mat. This is handy for half-inch cuts. When I take vintage jewelry to sell online I use this to show their measurements, I don't have to measure them myself, I just place them on the mat, take a picture, then I can sell them on e-bay . Very convenient. On the other hand, there are preset crop sizes like 17 x 11 or 24 x 18. It took me a while but I was able to figure out what that means. There is also a 0-360 degree circle if needed. The learning curve isn't that bad. Second, the cutter is sharp and there are two spare blades, so a total of 3 identical blades. There are other blades on the package but they are not included. I assume you have to buy them separately. In any case, normal blades are the most useful for me. The cutter has a safety lock so the blade will not open when not in use, eliminating the risk of accidental cuts. In general the sets are of good quality. no complaints.
