These are thicker socks than I expected, meaning that I thought the material would be thin and see-through in places where it was stretched out. That is not the case. These were not too tight above my knees, which I appreciated. I was able to pull them up to where the stripes were above my knees. I pulled them up starting at the ankle in order to get the most coverage. They did roll down into the bend of my knees when I walked around, but I'm not sure that it's reasonable to expect socks to stay up without support (from a garter belt, for instance). The dark grey is a very pretty color, in my opinion. My hips are about 40" and I am 5'8" with longer legs than torso.
