Blub is good. My hood includes two modes of high and low (two-level) lighting. The lamp works well on high beam but flickers on the "dimmer" setting. However, I would recommend a warm light rather than a typical LED, and I wouldn't really use it other than fully on/off. It fits snugly into the bulb in the hood body, so one bulb fits the space fairly snugly, but the other bulb doesn't fit in as securely (this isn't a bulb issue). Given how tight it is on the cap make sure you measure it very well and compare to the bulb size specs. It is difficult to screw it with little effort with the type of connector. So remember, measure where you will be using it and if you have space to securely mount the bulb in the socket.
