The sound of the arc is spotty.

I bought this cable to avoid problems with long HDMI connections. This was my third option and the first that worked. I happily checked and installed my cable, but the first day I watched TV for more than a minute, I noticed problems with the sound. The audio is interrupted for about a second every few minutes. It's enough to be annoying. This seems to be a fairly common problem with long cables. Also, when I use any of the CEC functions, the sound disappears for me (e.g. when adjusting the volume, the sound disappears when the volume is changed and returns after adjusting). It would be forgivable, but the constant loss of sound is frustrating. If I can find a workaround or solution I will update my review. I don't know if it will be better with another cable. Who would have thought that hiding HDMI cables would be so difficult? Edit: Dtech was incredibly quick to respond and sent me a new cable to try. Fiber optic HDMI was the only cable capable of carrying a 4K image over that distance. For some reason sending audio back through the cable with ARC doesn't work. My workaround, in case someone else has a similar problem, was to use the secondary (auxiliary) HDMI output on my receiver to send the picture to my TV, and then connect an active copper HDMI cable to it run in the opposite direction (the source end connected to my TV and the TV end connected to my receiver's ARC line) to amplify the audio signal. It was harder than I hoped, but it worked when nothing else worked. The simplest and cheapest solution is to simply run the cable no more than a few feet.

  • While satisfied
Cons
  • The list will be long.
