Chemical smell, styrofoam pieces that can be broken by hand.
Don't get me wrong, this pillow is very comfortable and thick/heavy. but it was so chemically sealed that I had to break all the foam through the coating by hand (which is very good!) and it smells SO BAD. The chemicals used to make it are SO STRONG and I literally have to break it apart and then take it outside to try and get rid of the smell. However, it is very strong and gives a very chemical smell to the things that already have it.
