Large clips of decent quality. I use these style clips all the time. I look at how far the teeth overlap and how much space is visible in the closed position. If the teeth overlap, the grip is good. If little to no space is visible, the hair clip will work for thin or thick hair and will most likely hold in place better. These clips have teeth that overlap nicely (and even have little mini-teeth on the inside to grab hair) but they're spaced quite a bit. Thick hair should be thin, but thinner hair can slip. The clamps appear to be quite strong and durable. I usually use them to tie my long hair in a bun.
