I painted it to match my room. I also bought a lightbulb converter so I can use a regular sized LED lightbulb. It was easy to plug into an outlet. The only downside is that the plug he placed on it is a 3-pin grounded socket and the cable that came with it only has 2 prongs, no third grounding pin. So don't connect anything that needs to be grounded.
