We didn't attach the toy because our cat is old and doesn't want to play with it. Also, we had a hard time even figuring out which page to pin the post to. There are no instructions and the holes on the bottom are not that easy to find. I think we may have posted on the wrong site but it works. Unfortunately, the carpet material is cheap and already torn. Since our cat is older and doesn't use it much, it's ok. For a home with multiple cats, that wouldn't be very good. For our purposes, this prevents the hallway carpet from being scratched.
