I love this thing. I was tired of running extension cords to my headboard to charge my phone, plug things in, etc. So I decided to stick this thing in the big hole in the bookcase headboard. They are very easy to install. Measure 4 1/2 inches from each side and make a mark. Drill a 3 1/8" diameter hole as in fig 1 (hardest thing is finding a hole saw - everyone makes them but nobody sells them. They say 3 1/4 will do but I do am a perfectionist).The unit then becomes simply as in fig 3. Screw the lock nut onto the bottom and insert into the socket.Pull up, fig 3, turn on the switch you see above and you are done. I can plug my phone and put it right on the shelf with no wires going anywhere. And when not in use? Just press down. That's great. And for the price? You can't beat it.
