My newborn is already used to softer soothie packs and when I tried to give her one she kept spitting it out. It's a lot heavier than sausage or jelly beans, so I think that's why. I think when she gets a little older, maybe around 6 months old, when she can take a pacifier and put it in her mouth, then she will use it.
