Review on Enhanced Bluetooth 5.0 Headphones - Avantree Aria Pro with aptX-HD Technology by Linda Porter

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No lip sync delay for headset

Purpose: Simultaneous TV viewing with headset and existing soundbar. Active noise canceling headphones (unit under test) Existing Vizio TV with optical audio out Existing Vizio soundbar with Bluetooth subwoofer Fits: These headphones are comfortable for my narrower face and have a lower profile than some headphones I've tried. I think these adjustments will also make them comfortable for a rounder head. Setup: Simply pair your headset with the Avantree Tx/Rx by following the instructions provided. Once connected, the evaluation of the Avantree [2020 New] aptX-HD 24 Bit Hi-Fi Bluetooth 5.0 Active Noise Canceling Headphones began. Sound: The noise canceling feature is a real plus for me as I live near a busy airport. The low roar of the planes was immediately drowned out, making for a more comfortable listening experience. Compared to my Bose QuietComfort II, the noise cancellation isn't that good. The volume control seems very good, especially on the soft end as I have sensitive hearing - two or three clicks to get the volume you want compared to some headsets that go from zero to screaming with one click. I can't say anything about the upper limit, except that I can't wear it at this volume and hear the headset on the table. The only issue I noticed is a slight audio lag between the headset and the soundbar. I believe it has to do with the soundbar (older model) not having low latency. The result is a slight reverberation when using both the headset and the soundbar at the same time. Sound quality seems adequate for my purposes, although I don't think audiophiles would find it top-notch. The sound is in no way tinny or confusing. The noise canceling feature is a plus for plane noise, air vents and other soft noises, but doesn't cancel out other sounds like talking etc. I haven't tried the mic.
