I bought this item to to bridge the gap between them MacbookPro and external monitor (I already have a dongle that converts USB C/Thunderbolt to HDMI, but the cable on the dongle is very short, so I needed an extension cord for a more convenient cable). Control). While the dongle plugged directly into the MacbookPro worked fine, adding this extension cable between the dongle and the MacbookPro didn't work (the screen stayed black). I suspect this extension cable might suffice for basic USB-C connections, but it's less efficient than Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4.
