Review on πŸ”₯ KOAKOMI Propane Welding: Versatile Soldering Solution for All Purposes by Brandon Plowden

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Suitable for home use and maybe more. Fairly powerful

This appears to be heavier than the $15 torch tips commonly sold to home users for soldering. This is mainly due to the metals used. The base appears to be molded and painted black. I doubt it's all cast iron, but it's pretty strong and heavy. The nozzles and other parts appear to be made of some type of alloy that may even contain some bronze. Hard to say. It all adds up to a reliable, but heavy-duty piece of equipment that can make a difference for those who weld or solder all day and are prone to fatigue. The assembly looks a little cheap, but I won't be able to break it with occasional home use. I like three different tips for pencil, medium and broad flames. The trigger lock is also a nice feature. Piezo ignition on/off/piezo ignition is made of plastic. One negative trait I noticed: I regularly get a shock if I touch any part of the nozzle when I hit the piezo igniter. I suppose that shouldn't happen. It's not a deal killer, but it's a pain in the arm.

Pros
  • Adjustable handle
Cons
  • No instructions
