A pack for clothes!

8 month update: Both denim jacket and jeans are washed to a mottled uneven finish after a few months. They bled easily on all other tissues, which also wore out with them. The only way to reduce color fading is to use RETAYNE Laundry Additive, the equivalent of RIT dye fixative, every time you wash your clothes. Save yourself the hassle, buy fiber reactive dyes from Dharma Trading or Jacquard. It's 10 times cheaper and never smudges after the first wash. The Rit livery is amazing. You should know, that paint fixer works very well. I deducted 1 star because RIT has no recommendation regarding the amount of cloth/set. So I tried to dye my denim jacket and pants at once. While the color has fully penetrated during the dyeing phase, undyed stains remain on the pants after the first wash. I think it's because there wasn't enough color fixer to fully cover both garments. To avoid staining and having to buy a second set to fix mistakes: - Use a large enough dye bath (5 gallon bucket with 3 gallons of water for 1 garment works great. Top loading washers also work well.) Enough dye to sew two medium-sized garments at once (one pair of pants). But the fixer is only enough for 1 garment to get full coverage. Use as much heat How long will the fabric last (before boiling if cotton/denim is dyed)! If you have a top loading washing machine, set it to hot and it works PERFECTLY. If not, use a large bucket of the hottest water available.
