I'm 175cm and 175cm tall and the size L fits perfectly - a bit long in the sleeves but not critical. I was afraid I would wear synthetic insulation over the down, but this coat did not disappoint. I. I live in suburban Chicago, so we get our fair share of single digit and cooler temperatures. I wore it with a shirt underneath and didn't freeze. Sweat for 10 minutes. This season, I've played the Bears playoffs at age 30 and under without feeling uncomfortable. I usually run pretty warm and don't mind the cold much so take it for what it's worth. "Waterproof" status, I've walked 2.5 miles in constant drizzle, maybe 40 road, and never got wet underneath. I felt comfortable the whole time. It also dries quickly and there is no lint to absorb water and weight. It would be nice if it had a built in system or a pocket or something for travel but it folds down to a very small size. In fact, I'm taking it on a trip to Florida at the end of January and I'm happy to know that it won't take up much space in my suitcase at all. I just don't want to go back to Chicago in the middle of winter without a jacket at the airport. Especially given the cost of a jacket in this category, I don't think you're wrong. The black color is beautiful and fits well. I have a Marmot raincoat and it has never let me down so I hope the same with this jacket!
