climbing into bed.. that's how you know if the bed is too high for you.. at night it won't kill my leg if it's not properly centered (and it's wide enough that that's not a problem). The only thing I noticed is that sometimes it creaks a little when the legs loosen. I hope this isn't an indicator of a shorter product lifespan, but so far so good and it's been about a month. I'm thankful for that every night.
