Review on Glarks Uninsulated Connectors Assortment πŸ”Œ - Effective Solutions for Non-Insulated Connections by Bim Cook

Incorrect wire sizes given

These spade terminals arrived quickly! Thumbs up Revain. I did not check the sizes based on the measurements. I think it's my fault. I repaired a vacuum cleaner with a replacement power switch. I used the smallest BN1.25 "22-16 AWG" connector to connect 2 16AWG wires. I used appropriate placement on a quality stripper/crimper pair for non-insulated. The cables just fell out. I ended up stripping the wires again, soldering, crimping, soldering and then putting them in shrink tubing. It worked. I then sat down with a caliper and measured the inside diameter of each size. The metric size shown was almost exactly the same once I converted. Then I looked at the Amer Wire Guage (AWG) standards for copper wire. Here are the results. BN1.25 Allegedly 22-16AWG, Actually 11AWG! Each side can accommodate either 10 22ga wires or 3 16ga wires. BN2 claims 16-14AWG, actual 9AWG! Each side can accommodate either 5 16ga wires or 3 14ga wires. BN3.5 Allegedly 14-12AWG, actually 7AWG! Each side contains either 5 14ga wires or 3 12ga wires. BN5.5 Allegedly 12-10AWG, Actually 6AWG! Each side can accommodate either 4 12 ga wires or 2 almost 3 10 ga wires. Therefore they don't serve their intended purpose but can work as a molex crimp as the walls are quite thin. I'll try and post later. Until then, I plan to order 200 Ginsco, UPC 610731355937, which is only $1 more.
