Update: Baby is 13 months old and has 5 teeth. Still no tears, no punctures. She still likes the toy, but usually only after it's been in the freezer. We think she's working on pulling out a molar and wants something more difficult. Update: Four months after I first reviewed this product, I still love it. My little one has two bottom teeth and did not damage this toy at all. Love putting it in the freezer to keep it chilled and perfect for my child to play with in the summer heat. I still recommend it to all families with children. I was looking for a teething toy that my child, who was 4 months old at the time, could easily hold and control by himself. This toy is perfect. Not so hard that my child could injure her gums, but at the same time not too soft to give her any relief or satisfaction while chewing. She can hold it herself and put it in her mouth. She prefers to gnaw on horns and ears, but she also dares to gnaw on her legs. She had gagged herself by chewing her own fingers but had NOT yet gagged herself with this toy. This is by far her favorite teether. My husband found that you can stick a giraffe's head through one of its nipple straps, which makes it extremely handy when we're outside, and just buckle it up so we're less likely to fall onto an infested floor. I love that it's a solid piece of silicone so mold doesn't grow inside. To clean, I use hot soapy water regularly simmering in the microwave for 5 minutes. I would recommend this toy to any parent I meet. Haven't tried freezing it yet, I think it will stay cold for a while but it won't freeze as there is no gel in it. No teeth yet but will update this review to see how it holds up once it has teeth.
