I bought another wallet and I liked it but it was a bit heavy so I bought this brown one. I can't tell you if it's real leather, but it definitely smells like leather. I like and would recommend both wallets. The Baellerry Women's Vintage Cowhide Wallet is a good size if you don't need a larger wallet. I use one of the zipped compartments for coins and the other zipped compartment for credit/shopping cards. I only use a couple of internal card slots so I really like it when I can find a smaller wallet with two zipped compartments. The bill compartment also has a long zipper. The place for the driver's license is not clear. It has some sort of mesh instead of a transparent pocket. The wallet itself is soft, not a hard material. Zippers work well but sometimes stick.
