Need a cheap replacement for my 20 year old JVC stereo which finally broke after a few years of use until I could settle on a better long term unit. I have used this device for the past 90 days. Conclusion: sufficient for the price. But if you can find a better device for the same price, I would take a closer look. Pros Works for most of what you need. Gives me audio input and speaker output. Cons The main problem I would have, as others have said, is that no settings are saved. If you turn it off and on again, you'll have to readjust the settings. In this case, when you turn it on again, the power-on volume becomes too high. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but the sound quality isn't great - it's doable as long as you keep the volume low enough that your speakers don't explode. [Added by another reviewer] Volume steps are too large. It would be nice to have more space for variable volumes. Each volume/volume control step is represented by step 2. Using volume 08 is hard to hear, 10 is a bit loud, 12 is too loud through the aux inputs. - AgredNeutral: I didn't use data inputs, SD, USB, Ipod/mp3 as I stream everything through my computer connected to it via a stereo input. For my particular use it is not necessary to use the remote control. so I have nothing to do with that. I am not using the karaoke/microphone feature. Instead of mic inputs, I would have preferred a headphone output and the ability to plug in a wireless headphone jack if I want to bypass the speakers, but that's not an option for this device.
