Really gives support where you need it. No it's not very pretty but when you sit it's behind you so what's the difference! For me, this is the lowest part of the back. For you, who knows? The elastic strap that secures it around the seat or chair has a strong Velcro strap that keeps it in place and holds tight. It's enough to get around a comfy car seat, but probably not a Lazy Boy seat. In this case, just leave the pillow where you want it.
