GOOD: Pretty lights that illuminate most of my ceiling. Will be good for parties. Worst: The constant and noticeable mechanical noise renders it unusable for my intended purpose as a sleep-inducing night light. Backlit buttons do not work properly. I think that's what the remote is for, but it's finicky and frankly not needed for this type of product. The most practical proved to be the remote control, with which the shutdown timer can be clearly set in 1, 2 or 4 hour intervals. However, there is no way to tell if the machine actually confirmed your choice by pressing the buttons, and it doesn't seem to work. Once the timer was set for 1 hour, it seemed to turn itself off after 20 minutes. Another time it wouldn't turn off at all until I manually turned it off. After all this I expect it won't last very long as it feels like a cheap product. Not worth the price. UPDATE: Died within 5 months. The item is no longer enabled/disabled. Also, the seller's suggestion to put the item in "pause" mode to make it "silent" is silly as it defeats the very purpose of animated lights.
