This is a nice chair. It has a mid-century modern look. Feels like velvet. The seat is very well padded. The seams look tight. The chair looks great with our TV stand (which also has gold legs). The chair is quite low to the ground. However, the height is comparable to other chairs we have at home (see photos). My husband (6ft 2in) found the chair really comfortable for his back. I don't think this chair will be comfortable for people who are much wider or taller than him. My husband has to sit completely with his legs. I'm 5ft 2in and feel perfect sitting in a chair. When I sit down, my feet barely touch the floor. The assembly was very easy. It didn't have a washing machine but we had one in the garage that we used so it doesn't matter. In general we are very happy with the chair!
