My wife has a 1970's snub-nosed 12x32 ironing board that she was trying to salvage from the dump. We received this product despite mixed reviews. Note that the listing above says "12.5" with a width of 30" to 33". You won't believe! Below it says "FIT: 30-32L x 12W". There's a little more room for a 12.5" wide board, but I'm here to say that 32" is hardly possible. And a length of 33 inches is simply impossible. I think your results will vary slightly depending on the thickness of your board. We can have 0.75 inch chipboard. I also believe it depends on how far you expect the lid to wrap onto the bottom. In our case, it barely wraps around enough for me to be comfortable and stay in place as long as I have a button on the front and back. The 4mm spacer claim is also clearly exaggerated. There's something there, but far away from 4mm thickness. I ended up throwing an old wool scarf around my neck to act as extra padding and I was lucky that it fit perfectly and I was still able to stretch and fasten it. Before we did the final install I put it on the board and let it sit for a few days to see if it would stretch and make the final install easier. Maybe it worked, maybe not. But it might be worth a try if you're about to try it on. One day everything seems to be alright. It's too early to talk about durability, strength or anything other than suitability. I can say that the price is not bad and the materials seem good. But it has not yet been used in real conditions.
