This is a toner cartridge and it is working. Quality control is now much better than before. Save a few bucks. Update July 2020, 7 months after purchase. A: I still like these cartridges. I didn't have any smudges or streaks like refilled cartridges. I have no complaints. I'm using them to work from home, it's the only place I've been working since March because of the virus. The printer got a real workout, there were no problems with the cartridge. I noticed that the last cartridge that replaced the 26X used about 7100 pages before it started fading on one page. I think HP claims around 9,000 pages, but that probably depends on your print coverage. I print forms so I don't think I could do better with HP.
