Review on Freestyle2 Ergonomic Keyboard Standard Separation by Lisa Vogt

So many good things are offset by so many bad things.

UPDATE [1/18/2020]: Well, I've finally given up on this keyboard. After four full months of exclusive use, the position of the non-typing keys is just as disappointing as the day I started using it. ) and the paste-key-as-function key required me to relearn the key combination (I switched to CTRL-C/V, which isn't my preference). In addition, I endlessly customize this keyboard. , because it slips very easily and is therefore no longer in the ideal writing position. Especially since I still have to fumble around to figure out which key I'm about to press. (Again, this doesn't apply to letters or numbers, just the other "ctrl" keys on the keyboard. Again, I like this idea. Sure, it was more convenient to type with my hands spread. But I'm spending way too much Time on my computer to put up with the constant annoyance of those control keys.[ORIGINAL REVIEW]: I'm a writer and programmer. I've been spending most of my day at my computer using some form of ergonomic keyboard since 1995. Lately I've been making myself Worried that even the standard wave keyboard wasn't enough, so I tried this keyboard.I not only bought a keyboard, but also bought a lift kit and an extra keyboard.. also ( I do too much math on my computer to try to calculate the number pad built into the keyboard keys.) Be quiet if you're trying to do something that is NOT typing plain text. Like key combinations or shortcuts of any kind Here's what I have against this keyboard: It feels cheap. It's not: it looks like it's well built, but it's not. It feels flimsy, and the little jacks that come with it ($35!) also seem pretty cheap. The only metal I can find on this keyboard seems to be in the screws that hold it together and the plastic seems flimsy. " cable, and one has a 20" cable. They charge at least $1 a foot for a piece of cable. They should absolutely be ashamed of that. And while we're on the topic of cable, it's NOT REPLACEABLE. You will not using anything like a usb cable or ethernet cable or any other standard or even proprietary cable that is permanently connected to the keyboard, if you damage the cable you will have to buy a new keyboard, you have all the keys so close moved as closely as possible to each other There is NO SPACE between the end of the "main" keyboard and the letter h.ome/end/pgup/pgdn and the arrow keys are crammed into the remaining corner space and there are only tiny gaps between these keys and the main keyboard. This means that you can no longer use the edges to find your way to the key you want: you have to hit it accurately with muscle memory alone. The "comfortable" keys are extremely impractical: two columns of keys there on the left? They seem like a great idea if you're not used to pressing your left hand to the edge of the keyboard for things like ALT+TAB or any CTRL+KEY combination. The Ins key is a function key (you must activate the function keys by pressing another key before you can use them). And what super-important, must-have key is where the function keys aren't active? break/break! When was the last time you used the pause/interrupt button? (DON'T TALK TO YOU PROGRAMMER!) DEL and BACKSPACE: They are the same size and stacked on top of each other. I can't count the number of times I clicked one when I meant to click the other. In fact, he's so embarrassingly close that I've made that mistake three times in a row. To make sure I'm pressing the right key, I actually have to put my hand on the right side of the keyboard. No breaks on F-keys: Not a big problem, but I prefer the function keys in "groups of four". "Method. I understand that this will be difficult on this keyboard, but here you have an even row of 7 or 8 keys with no gaps. You won't be able to quickly find the one you need is not the one on which you press dozens of times a day after a whole month of continuous use than my old one. Also, I'm having a multi-day adjustment period where you feel very weird typing so far apart. It's going away, but it definitely takes some getting used to Long story short I love the idea of this keyboard but the execution of kinesis sucks and the price they charge for it is really nothing more than a two piece keyboard with a wire in the middle ridiculous I use this keyboard still a crush, but if it broke I definitely wouldn't buy another one.
