Review on LEMEGA Portable Bluetooth Headphones Batteries by Brian Rivenbark

Minimal features, low cost even in this price range

This radio was purchased to replace a 10 year old Livio radio which was still working properly until the Reciva aggregator set a January 31st shutdown date 2021 announced. That makes Livio a paperweight. In short, the Frontier/Nuvola Technologies LeMega is a very poor replacement. First of all, unlike the Livio/Reciva combo, the Sangean/Frontier combo or even the Revo/Frontier combo, LeMega doesn't support the ability to upload your own custom streams via the web or the app. This radio only plays streams from the Frontier database. That means no IHeart streams, TuneIn streams or GotRadio streams alongside many other popular audio platforms. To make matters worse, the only way to keep the flow going is to use one of the 20 presets available. I regularly listen to over 100 streams, both music and talk, and the 20 preset station max is terrible. Adding a preset to the radio itself also leaves a lot to be desired: use a counter to enter one letter at a time, then go through a poorly designed menu system to select a station to save. The app is better because at least you can type with your mobile device's software keyboard. The app is difficult to use the features aren't obvious and it doesn't offer any additional features other than the phone itself. For the application to work, the mobile device and the radio must be connected to the same WiFi router. The UI is identical to the old Revo UI so it was disappointing that it was so dumb. The FM receiver was very disappointing, it didn't even find familiar stations that I can pick up on any other FM radio I have. Also, if you want to use the phone's USB power cable to charge the batteries, you must use lithium batteries. Ultimately, the downside to portable Internet radio is that most public Wi-Fi networks require you to agree to some terms of service on the website. which the device cannot access, and this,
